When you apply for financial aid, you will most likely be considered for three basic kinds of assistance:

• Scholarships and Grants: This is gift aid.  Scholarships and grants need not be repaid and can be based on financial need, merit, or both.
• Education Loans: Even if you don’t qualify for need-based aid, you may qualify for a low-interest loan that allows for more flexible repayment options.
• Student Employment: Many students take part-time jobs offered through the Federal Work-Study program or other campus employment opportunities.
