HMC
More About Costs

While the Cost of Attendance (COA) gives you a good picture of what your 2011-2012 HMC education will cost, it’s not the total picture. There’s plenty more to learn about how and when you pay your tuition—factors that can affect overall affordability.

During your enrollment at HMC, the Office of Student Accounts will be your main contact for paying tuition, fees, on-campus room and board, and other authorized charges.

You will be billed for each year’s costs between July 1 and April 1. Fall semester charges are reflected on the July 1 billing and spring semester charges are reflected on the December 1 billing. If you receive financial aid, your account will be credited throughout the year as those funds are disbursed. In general, your financial aid awards are applied in equal amounts to each semester's charges.

HMC offers two convenient payment options for paying the college bill:

  • a Full Payment Plan, or
  • a Monthly Payment Plan spread out over five months. The cost of the monthly installment option is $50 per semester. You will receive a billing statement at the beginning of each month if you have an outstanding balance.

In addition, Harvey Mudd College offers four payment methods by: mail (paper check or money order), eCheck, Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT), and cash payments. If you have questions about the billing statement or billing procedures, please contact the Office of Student Accounts at (909) 621-8107 or visit the Office of Student Accounts homepage. Note that Harvey Mudd College does not accept debit or credit card payments.
