Domestic Exchange
Students may participate in HMC's Domestic Exchange Program during their sophomore or junior year. Processing their application through HMC, tudents may choose to attend Swarthmore College or Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for a semester. Cost for the program is the same as if the student were on-site at HMC; payment is made to HMC, and payment plans may continue to be implemented. On-campus housing is guaranteed at the host campus, and students are able to enroll in the same manner as students at the host college. Information on these programs is available through the Office of Career Services.
Science Bus
The Science Bus program aims to help teach science to elementary and middle school students in lower income and under-privileged areas. Teams of two to four volunteers from the Claremont Consortium visit local elementary schools and share one- to two-hour science lessons, which generally teach a concept, give a demonstration and offer an interactive experiment for the younger students to perform.
