HMC
Science Olympics

Currently in its second year, the HMC Science Olympics is a one day event which draws elementary school students from surrounding schools to Harvey Mudd's campus for a day of fun science activities, demos, and a lunch including liquid nitrogen ice cream!

We are currently in the process of planning the 2009-2010 Science Olympics, but read below for information on last year's event!

Science Olympics (Spring 2009):
First, our very own Professor Benjamin will do his Mathemagics show!  Come see the magic of math and the math of magic... There will also be four "challenges" with fun, hands on science:

 Event Description
Puff-Mobile Challenge Build a car powered completely by air!
Physics Demos Learn about the mystery of mechanics through some exciting physics activities and demonstrations.
Robotics Challenge Pretend you are a computer and guide a real robot through a maze!
CSI: Claremont A crime has been committed at Harvey Mudd and you've been called in to investigate... learn about forensic science and solve the mystery!

Lunch will be served at the end of the activities.
