Summer abroad is a good way to have a short-term study abroad experience. Many of the program sponsors HMC partners with for semester programs also provide summer opportunities. These opportunities offer students a chance to take interesting language and culture courses in countries all around the world! Description: In this program
engineering students have a unique opportunity to study abroad in the
capital of the People's Republic of China. As one of the most populous cities in the world. Bejing is also China's political, cultural, and educational center.
Academics: Students enroll in three courses totaling 8 credits: HMC's Intro to Electrical Engineering (E84), a course entitled China Transformation, and a Chinese language course. All courses are taught by CSI staff on the campus of Peking University, a major research university and one of the top universities in the world. Classroom learning is supplemented by weekend excursions and study trips.
Housing: Students live in on-campus suites.
Cost: $5000 (includes tuition, housing, activities, and domestic travels). Food and international airfare are the student's responsibility.

Comment: Non-engineers may enroll in the Chinese culture and language courses and waive the E84 course.
TO APPLY: Students must complete the HMC Summer Application by February 15. Students will also complete the CSI application at a later date.
