Getting Started

Eligibility
HMC has no minimum GPA requirement, but most programs require a minimum of 2.5, and may require greater than 3.0. Applicants should be full-time students and their student account should be current. Any sanctions due to a judicial case against a student must be completed prior to leaving for abroad plus, a clearance to go abroad needs to be granted by the Dean of Students.

Attend an Information Session
Study abroad information sessions are held within the first few weeks of each semester. Dates, times and locations are emailed to students at the beginning of the semester. Students must RSVP to the Office of Academic Affairs/Study Abroad Office to reserve a spot.

Choose a Program
A number of factors must be taken into account when considering studying abroad. Things like geographical location, spoken language, living arrangements and program specifics are all important things to think about. Learn more...

Meet with Study Abroad and Faculty Advisors
Typically, HMC students study abroad for one or two semesters during their junior year. With appropriate planning, courses abroad can be integrated with HMC work, so that transfer credit can be awarded and study abroad students can graduate from HMC within four years. Learn more...
