While no unit credit is given, satisfactory completion of three semester courses of physical education, consisting of an approved fitness course taken as a freshman and two additional elective physical education courses, is required for graduation. HMC students need to complete the three Physical Education (PE) course requirement with the objective of developing the skills for a lifelong physical fitness program. Students are required to register for their approved fitness PE course during their freshman year. The “Freshman” PE course must be selected from approved aerobic PE courses, which are taught by full-time CMS Athletic Department staff members with varying levels of fitness and instructional content. Season-long participation in an intercollegiate team sport with CMS Athletic Department staff can also fulfill a PE requirement.
