Typical Schedules
There are many different paths through a chemistry major. Three such paths, wherein a student starts advanced coursework in chemistry in the third, fourth, and fifth semesters, are reproduced here. Courses with numbers of 100 or above may be taken in any sequence. As a result, one could reach Chem 182 (Chemistry in Living Systems) in the sixth semester, if desired.

Hum/Soc refers to a program of studies in the humanities and social sciences, including a five-course concentration and a broad-based background in the arts & literature, humanities, and social sciences.
