Hufsa Ahmad: "A Solar Thermal Energy Storage System for Rural India" (Global Clinic). After graduation, Hufsa headed into the work force.

Athena Anderson: "Sequence Optimization for the Processing of tRNA-shRNA Chimeras." Athena is in the Ph.D. biological sciences program at the City of Hope.

Heather Audesirk: "Novel Technologies for Protein Separations" (Global Clinic). Heather will head off to California Institute of Technology in the fall to start her Ph.D. program in photovoltaics.

Thomas Avila: "Theoretical Investigation of Tantalum Hydroamination Catalysis." Thomas is headed to Massachusetts Institute of Technology in a Ph.D. program.

Patrick Chaffey: "Selectivity of Cyclic Amide-Acetal Claisen Rearrangements." Patrick is joinng the Ph.D. program in biochemistry at the University of Colorado-Boulder.

Brette Chapin: "Tantalum Complexes of Aminoalcohol Ligands and Sterically Demanding Co-Ligands for Asymmetric Catalytic Hydroamination of Aminoallenes." Brette is headed to the University of Texas-Austin in a Ph.D. program.

Laura Collins: "Synthesis of a Homologous Series of Zinc Porphyrin Dyes for use with Zinc Oxide DSSCs." Laura is attending Northwestern University this fall in a chemistry Ph.D. program.

Anna Cunningham: "Characterization of Broad-Spectrum Mercury Resistance in Leeuwenhoekiella Blandensis MED217." Anna received a Fulbright Scholarship (Dublin, Ireland) and a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Award. She is undecided, at this point, where she will begin a Ph.D. program.

John Cvitkovic: "Electronic Coupling in Carbonyl-Capped Osmium Porphyrin Dimers." John was accepted to the University of Massachusetts-Amherst chemical biology Ph.D. program.

Bonnie Davidson: "Regulation of Nnat Translation by miRNA-138." Bonnie is very excited to subsitute teaching in Kern County.

Kristine Fong: "Amino-Alcohol and Phenol Ligands for Asymmetric Hydroamination Catalysis."

Millie Fung: "Isolation and Characterization of Secondary Metabolites Produced by Endophytic Fungi from R. Viburnifolium." Millie is actively seeking work in a chembiology or straight biology position.

Cassandra George: "Three Dimensional Reconstruction of Microband Boundaries in FCC Metals." Cassie was accepted into a Ph.D. program at Northwestern University.

Michelle Hansen: "Catalytic Intramolecular Asymmetric Hydroamination with Tantalum Complexes of Amino Alcohol Ligands." Michelle is moving to San Diego to begin a Ph.D. program at the University of California-San Diego.

Ha Seong Kim: "Effects of ZnO Morphology and Acid Etching on Electron Transport and Efficiency of Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells." Ha Seong is at the University of Wisconsin in a material sciences Ph.D. program.

Heidi Linder: "Determining the Binary Phase Diagram of n-octyl-ß-D-thioglucoside and Water using Polarizing Microscopy and Fluorescence Spectroscopy." Heidi is actively seeking employment.

Edmund Mills: "Oxygen Reduction Kinetics at the Barium Potassium Hydroxy Phosphate/Platinum Interface." Ned will begin a Ph.D. program in material sciences at the University of California-Davis.

Daniel O’Neil: "Measurement of Electron Transports in Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells." Daniel is heading to the University of California-Berkeley to begin his Ph.D in chemistry.

Daniel Pak: "Phylogenetic Analyses of the mer Operon."

Laura Poindexter: "Towards a Biomimetic Synthesis of Endiandric Acid H." Laura is actively seeking employment and plans to attend medical school in the near future.

Brigid Poling: "The Role of Immune Molecules in Rat Hippo-Campal Synaptic Plasticity." Brigid will attend Duke University.

Jessie Roy: "Trade-offs in Physical and Chemical Defenses in the Soft Coral Genus Sinularia." Jessie was accepted into a chemical ecology Ph.D. program at Georgia Institute of Technology.

Alicia Schep: "Creation of a System to Manipulate Expression Levels of RpoS in Escherichia coli." Alicia was awarded a Churchill Fellowship (Cambridge), and then will begin a Ph.D. program at Stanford.

Zara Seibel: "Towards a Biomimetic Formal Synthesis of Endiandric Acids A and B." Zara is attending Columbia University in an organic chemistry Ph.D. program.

Andrey Shur: "Functional Testing of the Bacillus aquimaris 6A3 Mercury Resistance Operon." Andrey is a lab technician at UCLA.

Arthur Vasek: "Multi-Angle Light Scattering Study of the Binary Liquid Mixture of Tetrahydrofuran and Water."

Kanny Wan: "Syntheses of Natural and Unnatural Davanoids for Antifungal Screens." Kanny is headed to the Scripps Research Institute. She will earn her Ph.D. in organic chemistry.
