Harvey Mudd’s exceptional rigor in science, engineering and mathematics, its strong emphasis on humanities and social science, and its mission of socially responsible scientific and technological leadership all contribute to an excellent atmosphere for studies in environmental biology.

Biology majors have several options for focusing their academic studies in environmental biology. They may complete their Humanities and Social Science concentration in Environmental Studies, select their elective courses within the Biology Major to form a concentration in Environmental Biology or apply for the Semester in Environmental Science. Students may also choose to double major in Biology at HMC and Environmental Studies at Pitzer, or design a major in Environmental Studies as an Individual Program of Study.
