HMC
Web-Registration from Off Campus

SPRING 2013

First Things First
Notify Dean of Students or the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs that you are planning to return to HMC and web-register for the next semester. Find out if you need to do anything to be cleared to return. The Dean of Students or the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs will notify the Registrar when you are cleared to return.

Look at the HMC Registrar’s website for web-registration information, including schedule of courses, college catalogue, pre-registration instructions and course planning worksheet.

Now It’s Time to Pre-Register
Web-registration can be done by mail or by e-mail. If you use e-mail, please put your last name as the first word in the Subject area for the e-mail, so your e-mail correspondence can be quickly identified.

After looking at the available courses in the Student Portal, determine your courses for the semester.

Send your course list to the Registrar and your adviser(s).

Request that your adviser(s) review your list and send their approval to the Registrar. This may take a few exchanges with an adviser before approval is given.  It is best to maintain a single e-mail stream which will keep all communications in a single correspondence.

You will be given a web-registration appointment time as if you are on campus. When your time occurs, you will be registered in the classes that have been approved using your Student Portal. If only your HSA adviser has sent the needed approval, then you will only be pre-registered in your approved HSA courses. When approval arrives later for other courses, you will be web-registered in them.

Things To Remember
Remember to get all the necessary PERMissions for courses as if you were here. This also applies to overloads and class time conflicts.

Be sure to check that you have the necessary prerequisites for your courses. Have some alternates listed and approved in case your first choices get filled before your pre-registration time.

When you return to HMC, you can adjust/complete your schedule of courses. Registration will continue through the 10th day of the semester, February 4, 2013.
