First-Year Web-registration Checklist
FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS:
First Things First
- Read all the information online
- Your web-reg card will be put in your student mailbox
- Mark your calendar with your web-registration time, which is listed on the web-reg card
- Make and appointment to meet with your first year advisor who will assist you with identifying the courses you will need to web-register for during you web-reg appointment time. Your advisors name will be indicated on your web-reg card and your Student Portal
Now It’s Time To…
- Decide on your additional courses for Spring 2013
- Select a first-year aerobic PE class if you did not take one in the fall
- Consider alternate electives, in case your first choices get filled
- Consider other electives if desired, such as PE, music, dance, etc.
- After consulting your adviser, enter the additional courses and alternates for spring onto your web-reg card and have your adviser sign the card
- Arrange for overload approval with Dean Jacobsen (Office of Academic Affairs) if necessary
- Obtain instructor PERM for any of your classes that require it
- Obtain both instructor signatures on a Class Conflict Approval Form if any class has a time conflict with another class
You're Almost Done
Is the information on your web-registration card complete? You want to make sure to do the following:
- Complete all course numbers with section and college indicated, such as MATH040 HM 01
- Do not abbreviate course titles
- List days and times
- Information on the card must be legible by other people
- Have alternate course choices listed and approved
Now you can take your web-registration card to the Registrar's Office for Web-Reg clearance.
