Black History Month 2011

February 2011

This year, HMC celebrated Black History Month with a myriad of events.

  • Dean Gary Kelly devised a Question of the Day series, with prizes awarded to the first student, faculty and staff to respond with the correct answer.
  • Students made a trip to Upland to see a stage play of "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf." 
  • OID hosted a Black Faculty Panel during lunch comprised of Professors Lyzenga, Williams, Edwards and Hightower.
  • The Hoch-Shanahan prepared a special menu with Southern, Creole and Cajun style foods.
