Independent Research Projects
Students who have conducted significant independent senior research, integrative experience or performing/visual arts projects under the supervision of a faculty advisor are eligible and encouraged to present their results during HMC Presentation Days.
Research results are typically presented as 15- or 30-minute oral presentations; performances or viewing of arts projects are scheduled by request. Each departmental Presentation Days Committee (PDC) representative is responsible for informing the PDC of the number and length of independent research project presentations to be given by students from their department.
Class Projects
Students who have conducted significant research, design or arts/performance projects as part of a spring semester course are also eligible to present during Presentation Days.
Because limited timeslots are available, course instructors who wish to have their students participate in Presentation Days must submit a written "Request to Participate" to their departmental PDC representative. The request must include (1) an explanation of the nature of the project and its significance to the course; (2) justification for presenting class projects to a general, public audience; and (3) the anticipated number, type and length of presentations.
