Presentation Days 2002

In 2002, more than 230 students—including more than 85 from each major who gave research talks—participated in Presentation Days. Students in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences examined the role of the book in Western Culture, presented studies and research reports on issues in education, displayed their black and white photographs and performed new musical compositions and improvisational comedy. The results of the Introduction to Engineering Design projects, which involved 17 teams of freshman and sophomore students were also presented.

The keynote speaker for Presentation Days 2002 was Steven M. Potter, Ph.D., a senior research fellow in the biology division at the California Institute of Technology. Dr. Potter spoke on "Connecting neurons to computers: What it is like to be an interdisciplinary brain scientist at the cutting edge."

The 2002 Presentation Days Committee consisted of William Alves, Sally Rich Arroyo, Chih-Yung Chen, Eric Ditwiler, Adam Johnson, Geoff Kuenning and Ruye Wang, and was co-chaired by Andrew Bernoff and Catherine McFadden.
