Center for Environmental Studies Grants
HMC's Center for Environmental Studies holds an annual competition for grants to support student research during the summer. This is an excellent opportunity for students in all fields to pursue leading-edge research on socially relevant topics with faculty mentors at HMC or at other leading institutions of higher education. Shanahan Project Fund
The Shanahan Endowed Student-Directed Project Fund, established in December, 2005, with a gift of $500,000 from HMC trustee R. Michael Shanahan and his wife, Mary, is designed to promote leadership and teamwork among students. This fund supports projects of an academic or co-curricular nature, as well as those that involve student-directed research. Learn more...
Student Travel Grants
Students can apply to the Dean of Faculty’s Office for funding for travel. Funds will be given out in $500 (domestic) or $1000 (international) increments. The criteria for requests are:
- Student traveling with a faculty member to a scientific meeting
- Student must present the work as a poster or oral presentation
To request funds, the faculty advisor should fill out the student travel request form.
Faculty advisors or students granted funds will be required to send a paragraph summary of the event to describe the experience, benefit, etc. to ADREL (Liz Orwin orwin@hmc.edu) upon return.
Strategic Vision Fundng
As announced by President Maria Klawe each semester, funds are available to groups or individuals who have ideas that would advance one or more of HMC's six Strategic Vision themes. An online application is required. Learn more...
