College Advancement

The Office of College Advancement helps sustain the excellence of Harvey Mudd College by spreading its message, building relationships with alumni, parents and friends, and through fundraising. The Advancement team seeks partnerships with all HMC constituencies (faculty, staff, students, volunteers, etc.), and with all new friends to fulfill the college’s mission and strategic vision goals.

Led by the Office of the Vice President, the Office of College Advancement is organized into three collaborative and flexible groups. Each group has special areas of focus and expertise:

Annual Giving/Constituency Engagement Group

Encompassing the Annual Fund and Leadership Giving programs, Alumni & Parent Relations, and Reunion units, this group is primarily responsible for annual fundraising and constituent participation goals, the reunion program, and engagement with key HMC constituencies and volunteers.

Communications and Marketing

Primarily responsible for generating the OCA’s print, web, multi-media, social networking and other communications, and for strategic institutional communications, typically developed in partnership with external teams (e.g., the Office of Admission & Financial Aid, the Dean of Students, Campaign leadership, academic departments, etc.). The Communications group is responsible for crisis communications and public relations activities.

Campaign/Strategic Support Group

Primarily responsible for campaigning, database management, prospect research, strategic support (including foundation and corporate funding and planned and designated giving), and special initiatives, such as the President’s Scholars Program, the Annenberg and Nelson lecture series, and presidential/President’s Cabinet communications;

We encourage you to explore the different giving opportunities available and to make Harvey Mudd College your top philanthropic choice this year. Generous support from the HMC community makes it possible for the college to continue its nationally recognized program of educating scientists, mathematicians and engineers who understand the impact of their work. Your support enables the college to expand student research opportunities and to attract and nurture the talented faculty and students who make it all possible. Thank you!
