HMC Resource IP Ranges

If you use a firewall such as ZoneAlarm or similar products, there are certain  IP ranges you may wish to whitelist or set up as "trusted" ranges in order to avoid hassle when accessing resources on the HMC network. The two ranges relevant to CIS academic computing resources are:

134.173.32.1 - 134.173.32.254
134.173.51.1 - 134.173.51.254

Some firewalls may have you enter a single IP and a subnet mask instead. In those cases, use the first IP of each pair listed above, with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0.

Other Ranges

If you wish to be able to share files via Windows File Sharing or other similar methods with other student computers on the dorm networks, you may have to add additional rules to your firewall's exceptions list
