What wireless is available?
HMC, along with all the other institutions at Claremont, maintains several advertised networks for use by student, staff, and faculty.
The Claremont-WPA network is the preferred wireless network. It provides the most secure, encrypted wireless service. To get started with WPA, its easiest to first connect to the Claremont network with a browser and navigate to http://autoconnect.claremont.edu. After authentication there, a small java applet will download and configure your device for operation and actually connect you to the WPA network. After the setup, just always connect to the Claremont-WPA network and it will use the credentials stored on your device.
Another network you will see is "Claremont-ETC". This network is designed for devices that either do not support WPA or do not have a web browser. This includes some game consoles and other similar devices. If you need to use this network, contact CIS to obtain the WEP key in use for a given semester.
CINE
Decommission of the CINE wireless service is planned for Fall 2012.
