HMC Webmail is available at webmail.hmc.edu. It can be used with Odin, Thuban, and hmcadm accounts. You must choose your server from the "IMAP Server" menu at the bottom of the page - Odin for students, Thuban for faculty, or hmcadm for administrative users. To log in, select your server, and type your username and password. You will be taken to your Inbox.
Note: If you are logging in to Odin, you must use your most recent Odin password. If your password does not work in Webmail, you have probably not changed it recently. To change your password on Odin, see this document.
Reading, moving, composing, and deleting mail
To read a message, click on the subject of the message. Do not click the 'Read' button - this button is used to mark messages as 'read'.To move or delete several messages, click the check boxes to the left of the message. If you want to delete the messages, press 'Delete' in the gray bar near the top of the window. To move the messages, select the folder you want to move them to in the pull-down menu, and hit 'Move'. You can also mark messages 'read' or 'unread' by hitting the corresponding button. Unread messages will appear bold in your inbox. Clicking on the subject line of a message to view it will automatically mark the message as read.
When you are done reading messages and want to go back to your Inbox, you will want to click 'Inbox' in the left panel, or 'Message List' near the top of the window. Try not to click 'Back' while logged in to Webmail, as this can confuse your browser.
To compose a new message, hit 'Compose' and you will be taken to the composition screen.

To edit your folders, click on Folders. You can create new folders, rename existing folders, or delete folders. You cannot rename or delete the inbox, drafts, sent-mail, or trash.
