Ensuring you and your family will be safe in the event of a disaster or emergency is the first step in preparedness. If you are required to assist Harvey Mudd College during an emergency event knowing your family and loved ones are safe will be of the utmost importance. Preparedness at Work
Emergencies can happen during working hours. Injuries, physical damage to facilities and equipment, as well as loss of important documents can severly impact college programs. Preparedness Training
Preparedness training involves learning skills that will help others during an emergency. Fire Safety, CPR, basic First Aid and AED classes are offer upon request and at various times throughout the year, usually spring semester. Emergency response team training is offered monthly for 1-2 hours in the form of meetings and exercise drills. Intial training classes for the Campus Emergency Response Team is offered during school breaks and in the summer. Learn more....
Preparedness Drills
Practice make Perfect.Drills, exercises and systems tests ensure HMC is ready to rapidly and effectively respond to emergencies. Emergency preparedness drills consist of fire evacuation, earthquake and shelter in place procedure practices. Exercises in the form of tabletop and functional scenarios strengthen HMC emergency response teams skills. System tests ensure communication and warning equipment and devices are functional.
