HMC Mass Notification System

HMC Public Address System    |    Connect -ED Notification System

Note: The HMC Mass Notification System will only be used during an actual emergency.

he Harvey Mudd College Mass Notification System was created to provide rapid emergency notification to the HMC Community during crucial emergency situations such as severe environmental conditions, acts of campus violence or similar circumstances that call for immediate notification or action.

The HMC Mass Notification system consists of the Connect-ED® Emergency Notification System and the Talk-A-Phone® Emergency Public Address System. Both systems allow HMC to to convey time-sensitive information within minutes, through a single phone call.

The Connect-ED® Emergency Notification System allows Harvey Mudd College to send and track personalized voicemail, written and  text messages for all members of their community. This notification system is used by all the Claremont Colleges, allowing effective, rapid emergency communciations between campuses. For more information go to: Connect-ED® Emergency Notification.

The Talk-A-Phone® Emergency Public Address System consists of a Wide-Area Emergency Broadcast System (WEBS) integrated into existing HMC emergency phones towers strategically located across campus. The HMC Public Address System will be used only during emergency situations to rapidly disseminate information to the HMC community. For more information go to: HMC Public Address System

Every community member is encouraged to add their cell phone to the Connect-ED notification list and participate in regular HMC Emergency Preparedness Drills. Knowing WHAT to do once an emergency message is received is key to remaining safe.
