- The fee for any change in registration which is initiated by the student during the school year is $5 per form. There is no charge for changing physical education classes.
- The college will charge students $30 for a check that is returned for insufficient funds.
- Students pay dues set by ASHMC, which are billed to the student via his or her student account.
- Class Fees. Classes may have additional fees. Class fees are indicated in the Schedule of Classes each semester and are billed to the student via his or her student account. Fees are 100 percent refundable if withdrawal is made on or before the last day to add classes for that semester and non refundable after that date.
- Bank fees for processing foreign bank drafts or money orders range from $60–$135.
- There is a $2 fee for a requested official transcript. There is no charge for a hardcopy or pdf of an unofficial transcript.
Delinquent Accounts
Every student is responsible for meeting promptly any payment due to the college.
Satisfactory arrangements for payment of the total charges on a student account for each semester, less financial aid, must be made prior to the beginning of each semester per the Tuition Payment Agreement (www.hmc.edu/files/studentaccounts/TuitionPayAgr08.pdf). A student account not meeting the requirements set forth in the Tuition Payment Agreement is considered delinquent. A student whose account is delinquent is subject to a late fee charge of one percent (1%) of the delinquent amount. A student with a delinquent account may be assessed a late-registration penalty and may also be disenrolled, resulting in prohibition from class attendance, revocation of dining hall privileges, and/or ineligibility to pre-register for the subsequent semester. Any student leaving HMC with an unpaid financial obligation will not be issued an official transcript of grades until settlement is made.
Library POLICIES
Loan Periods and Book Renewals
- The loan period for ALL students (undergraduates, seniors and graduate students) is 28 days for books in the general collection. (As always, reserves, browsing books and other special loan periods are for a shorter time.)
- You may keep track of the books you have checked out and renew most online by logging into My Blais (http://blais.claremont.edu) and viewing the items you have currently checked out.
- If you prefer, you may renew your books in person at one of the libraries or by calling the Circulation Desk (on campus: ext. 18372; off campus: 909/621-8372).
- The Libraries will send an e-mail reminder two days before the due date for books you have checked out.
Overdue Books and Lost Book Charges
- Books that are 10 days or more overdue are considered lost books and are billed to your library account at $100/book. If the book is returned after your account has been billed, the amount is reduced to an overdue fine of $10/book.
- You may pay any library account charges at the library BEFORE the 25th of the month. (You can keep track of charges to your account through My Blais).
- On the 25th of each month, charges to your library account totalling $100 or more will be transferred to your college student account and are payable to your college. (Your student account will be credited with $90 for books that are returned after charges have been transferred to your student account).
If you have questions about loan periods/overdues/charges, please contact the Honnold/Mudd Circulation Desk in person or by phone (on campus: ext. 18372; off campus: 909/621-8372).
Using Laptops
If you bring your laptop to the library and plug it into a network connection, you will be required to register with the Libraries. This process will help us to insure that viruses are not shared across our network. If you use a wireless network connection, registration with the Libraries is not necessary; however, you must register on your own campus for a CINE wireless account.
If you have questions about using your laptop in one of the Libraries, please contact
Library/Information Technology (on campus: ext. 18866; off campus: 909/621-8866).
