The Engineering Department invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position with an emphasis in electrical engineering.  Appointments may be made at either the Assistant or Associate Professor rank, depending on qualifications.  The successful applicant must have a Ph.D. in electrical engineering or a related field, and a commitment to excellent teaching in a broadly based, non-specialized, accredited undergraduate engineering curriculum based on design, systems, and engineering science.  Preference will be given to candidates with experience building wireless, analog, alternative energy, or bioelectric systems, but exceptional candidates with other backgrounds will be considered.  Professional practice experience is highly valued.  Teaching duties include team teaching in engineering science and systems courses, supervising projects in the Engineering Clinic Program, and developing courses in the applicant’s specialty.  In addition, the successful applicant will be expected to continue scholarly development through research and/or consulting within the context of the non-specialized engineering program.  Excellent opportunities exist in the Southern California area for collaborative research and consulting with local universities and industry.  Submit CV, statement of teaching and research interests, and names of three references to Professor David Money Harris, E.E. Search Committee Chair, Department of Engineering, Harvey Mudd College, 301 Platt Blvd., Claremont, CA 91711.  The search committee will begin reviewing applications on December 10, 2007 and will continue to accept applications until the position is filled.
