Maya Chalich, one of two senior directors for college advancement, plays a leading role in taking the Office of College Advancement and its programs of fundraising and communication to the next level in their support of Harvey Mudd College. Currently, she oversees HMC's campaign planning, planned giving program (The HMC Legacy Society), and prospect research and special initiatives, while directing multiple units and staff members within Advancement.
Maya came to HMC in 2008 from Southern California Public Radio, where she was acting director of development and major gifts officer. She previously served as major gifts officer and assistant director of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF’s West Coast Chapter and as an active advancement consultant for four years with Netzel Associates, ending her tenure there with the title of Vice President. Maya holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in music and French from Rice University and a Master of Arts degree from the San Francisco Conservatory.
Since her arrival at HMC, Maya has served as Director of Advancement Initiatives, leading a variety of strategic special projects aimed at elevating the Office of College Advancement’s overall readiness for a future campaign. These efforts have included significantly enhancing the college’s donor/prospect data mining programs, updating the college’s planned giving program and enhancing key systems that impact Advancement’s capacity to elevate its fundraising.
