Job Title:Help Desk / User-Support Assistant
Summary of Duties: Provide courteous and knowledgeable Help Desk support to HMC
community by answering phones, addressing user-support problems, and provide in
person assistance when necessary. Update procedural documentation on how to address
common issues, diagnostic and remedy, including Best Helpdesk Practices and other
documentation. Enter trouble tickets. Research and document known software/hardware
issues.
Desired/Required Skills: Basic knowledge of HMC supported software, with functional
knowledge of Mac/PC platforms, familiarity with HMC network structure, and ability to
troubleshoot simple hardware issues. . Desire to learn basics about other platforms and
operating systems. Must be able to commit to a semester-long schedule. Some experience
with scripting language and/or web design is desired, but not necessary.

Job Title:Lab/Printer/Copier Support Currently Filled: 1
Summary of Duties: Verify that lab systems are functional. Keep printer paper loaded in all trays. Change printer toner as needed. Report issues via tracking system when problems are to be noted. As needed replace toner cartridges for Administrative offices. Recycle toner cartridges and update toner logs. Assist with diagnosing, troubleshooting, and placing service calls for benched systems. Occasionally assist in setup and configuration of new printers.
Desired/Required Skills: Basic knowledge of HMC lab images & network and troubleshooting skills. Desire to learn set-up and configuration of networked printers. Must be able to commit to a semester-long schedule and be familiar with both Mac and PC platforms.
