CIS provides email services for students, faculty, and staff of Harvey Mudd College, with optional forwarding to a non-HMC address.

For checking local email, the preferred method is to use the Zimbra email client, which is available for all individuals with HMC email addresses via web browser. Other email clients may also configured to retrieve email from an HMC account via the IMAP protocol.

If you wish to forward your email to a non-HMC account, you will need to set up a fowarding address.

By default, all HMC email accounts are safeguarded by the Postini spam filtering system. 

Mailing list services are available via the listkeeper daemon.
