San Francisco Zoo Volunteer Event
Several unsuspecting young alumni were in for a treat when they arrived at the San Francisco Zoo on Saturday, June 9, 2007. Many thought the “spruce up” volunteer event would involve planting, weeding and pruning, only to find waders, crates and wheelbarrows at their project site. (And to start it all off, a little salsa dancing!)
The SF Zoo was planning to open their new grizzly exhibit in a few days and needed to tidy up the pond display. So, Mudders suited up and began removing the layer of algae growing on the pond. Receiving Mudders had to drain the stringy green patches of waste and properly dispose of it. With the exception of one severely cracked pair of waders, all Mudders came out dry!

A little Latin warm up before the real fun begins!
