Class of 2008 Senior Gift Program

Class of 2008 announces Senior Gift Program to support a class endowed scholarship!
On Saturday, April 5, HMC Senior Students started the countdown until graduation with HMC Alumni Board members, and announced their intentions to designate their senior gift, and gifts over the next five years as alumni, towards a class endowed scholarship.

They won’t have to go this alone.  With support from alumni, the $25,000 goal is more than a possibility!  Jason Fredrickson ’99 has enthusiastically agreed to sponsor the class of 2008 over the next five years with matching funds each year.  Likewise, Trustee Greg Rae ’00 has also committed to giving them a leg up by offering a 1:1 first year match.  The high quality of spirits at the Jay’s Place pizza party kick off can not be blamed for such commitments.  “It would have not been possible for me to come to Mudd without a scholarship” Jason said in his motivating address to the class.  These alumni whole-heartedly understand the importance of scholarship monies and the opportunities created with this type of support that will be offered for the life of the College.  “It’s so great to have the support of alumni, especially recent graduates who understand what we’re trying to do” said Senior Gift Committee Chair, Lindsay Wray ’08.

The class of 2008 joins the ranks of the classes of 1961, 1963, 1964, 1972, 1974 and 2007 in creating an endowed scholarship that will attract students by offering scholarship aid – a need that is empathized by most Mudders.
